This crazy Autumn, with temperatures close to 30 degrees, pushes us to guarantee our bees a constant garrison of water. 💦
Water is an essential element for the survival of bees, as well as for the generation of honey. Obviously water is needed in the months when families are more operational and the seasons are warmer, so in the spring and summer months. Therefore, a water source cannot be missing in an apiary. We have provided a small ‘pool’ (a large saucer) where the bees do not risk drowning, fed by a mini cistern that is filled if necessary.
In this anomalous autumn heat we are therefore worried that the small reservoir, located precisely on the edge of the apiary, is always full. 😓
