Copy of Bees in the snow šŸ ā„ļø

Writer's picture: Antonio LogotetaAntonio Logoteta

This morning we found this beautiful snowy landscape. During the day yesterday and throughout the night about 20 cm of snow fell. We immediately ran to the apiary to check the condition of the hives. In these cases, as happens on days of maximum cold, within each family the bees gather together to conserve heat in the hive and always protect the queen. They feed on the stored honey to produce heat and maintain the temperature of the colony. The queen stops laying eggs and the colony slows down its activities. šŸ šŸ ā„ļø ā„ļø ā„ļø šŸ
